Catholic Religious
Emblem Program
For: Catholic Wolves, Bears, Webelos and AoL's
The 12th point of the Scout Law is that a Scout is Reverent. The BSA recognizes religious emblems programs sponsored by over 50 faiths.
Cubs from Pack 846 have earned religious emblems from various faiths over the years.
We are sponsored by Saint Aloysius Parish and have offered sessions on the two Catholic Scout Religious Awards in the past and will be offering them again this year. As with most advancement in Cub Scouts - and most religious training, the majority of the work is done at home.
The two programs:
The Light of Christ for Wolves
The Parvuli Dei for Bears, Webelos and AoL's
Both require 4-6 or so hours of work for parents and cubs.
Mrs. Patty Bajkowski has led live session in the pre COVID-19 times but will probably now set up 3 short meetings to review progress and answer any questions.
She has been leading these workshops for the Pack for many years - her son is now a high school Freshman! The Archdiocese has recognized her efforts and awarded her the Bronze Pelican award several years ago!
Please contact Kerry Kilborn with any questions. kilbornkerry@gmail.com
We are planning on awarding the medals on Scout Sunday (really Saturday, 5:30 Mass) On February 6th
Work needs to be completed by December 20th.
Pre-Registration is required as Workbooks for this Catholic Religions Program must be ordered.
REGISTRATION DEADLINE: NOVEMBER 20, 2020
Scouts of other faiths interested in earning their religious awards should contact their religious leader and/or Stephen Brown (former CM) sbrown@fordham.edu or Steven Remington (former CC) at ser@progressroot.com.
You will still need approval from your religious leader, but either of the Steve’s can facilitate if necessary.
