The Raingutter Regatta is a racing event for Cub Scouts that is the sailboat equivalent of the pinewood derby.
Each scout should get their sailboat kit from their Den Leader at their March Pack Meeting or Blue and Gold Banquet.
Scouts are free to paint and decorate their sailboats as they choose.
The boats are raced in a standard rain gutter that is ten feet long, placed on a table and filled with water. The boats are propelled by blowing on the sail. The first boat to reach the end of the gutter is the winner. Winners will take home fame and glory!!!!
In the spirit of the regatta... Here's some boat jokes to share with your scouts:
What detergent do sailors use? --------Tide!
Where do ghosts like to go sailing? -------Lake Eerie
Where do zombies like to go sailing?-------The Dead Sea
